Garden Party 2004

Following family tradition, we had our garden party in July. It rained in the morning and we had a couple of showers during the afternoon, but it was sunny for the rest of the time and we were outside most of the day. We put on some more hot food to make up for the cold and had lots of home made music.

If you came, we hope you enjoyed yourself. If you didn't, we hope you can come next year.

Garden party from house One the sun came out the garden quickly filled up with friends and family. The table on the patio is always a popular spot, especially for people who don't want to get too far from the corkscrew.

Out in the sun The sun was out for most of the afternoon and it soon warmed up. We put up a couple of rainproof gazebos which helped to keep the chairs dry and encouraged people to stay outside.

High Jinks play an acoustic set James' band played an acoustic set of some of their songs and an impromptu Sweet Home Alabama. They were interrupted by a shower but the gazebos keep all the equipment dry.

James' friends Some of James' friends came to the party this year. We always get a good age range - about 6 to 66 this time, and 8 months to 80+ a few years back.

The Greek chorus Later our neighbour Bob brought round his electric piano and everyone started to join in - even Craig (High Jinks' drummer) played and sang. I can't remember what we were singing at this point but it looks like we were all having fun.
