I bought Barcelona Plates to read on holiday - short story collections are easier to dip in and out of, and I'd been an Alexei Sayle fan since seeing him at the Comic Strip in 1980. It's hard to remember what I expected but the stories were fantastic. Darkly comic with memorable characters and twists and turns.
But having read The Dog Catcher, Alexei Sayle's second volume, I may change my mind. The stories in it are just as savage, just as laugh out loud funny.
Anyway, if you want to know what really happened to Princess Diana, buy this book.

ps: In case you were wondering, I love Barcelona (the city) too. But I don't know much about their plates.
