Our Patio

Flowers on our patio Flowers on our patio

My Dad was always out in the garden. Although much to Mum's despair he grew cabbages between the roses and had loads of manure dumped on our drive from a local stables.

I enjoy our patio in the summer. It's good choosing the plants and filling all the pots and hanging baskets. We usually have a riot of colour by the end of June. And it's great to sit out on a summer's afternoon in the shade and see if we have any visitors - we get plenty of birds, a mouse last summer, squirrels, butterflies and bees.

Now that the garden's not used as a playground I'm starting on the borders, but whatever goes in has to survive whatever nature throws at it as we don't water the garden or bring anything in over winter.
