James played bass in High Jinks, with his friends Mike, Ewan and Craig. They started practicing seriously in 2003, made some demos and performed live through 2004, and even started work on an album at a studio in Germany.
Their music was Indie Rock, which went down well with Anne, and they had a complete set of their own songs, with some moody accoustic numbers and mean drum solos thrown in.
Unfortunately, High Jinks have broken up. But James and Ewan have now formed Small Victories.
Playing bass has really broadened James' musical knowledge. Now he listens to Jazz, Funk and even Soul along with the Rock.
Once he's made his millions and put us all up in a country house somewhere, you can always say that you knew him back in the early days.
