Living in Kent we're fortunate to have so many National Trust and English Heritage properties on our doorstep.
It's good to get out into the fresh air and countryside to recharge my batteries. I enjoy walking round the gardens — getting ideas for ours on the way — as well as visiting the houses and imagining what it would have been like to live them.
The guides are always on hand to add the extra bit of information. And the trip's topped off with a pot of tea and a cake before heading home.
