Friend cast Sex and the City cast Seinfeld cast

What is it about New York and TV shows. Three of our all time favorites are set in the big apple -- Friends, Sex and the City, and Seinfeld.

I (Rachel) have been watching Friends every since it first started of British TV and now I never miss a new show. I have my favorite shows of Friends on video so I can watch them again and again. I still find myself in fits of laughter no matter how many times you I've seen an episode. The characters are so well defined and it's amazing how well they go together.

Rachel - the one all women want to look like ... but occasionally could have a bit more brain. When she first runs into that coffee shop in "the one where it all began" you just know she is going to stay.

Monica - the tidy freak of the show. Occasionally I have to say she gets on my nerves but at some points you can't help but share her emotions. We all are so happy for her when her and Chandler finally hook up at Ross' wedding in london.

Phoebe - the one that's a little strange (at times). You can always count on Phoebe for the laughs. They aren't usually there as a joke, just herslipping up, doing something wrong or saying something she wasn't supposed to. Like in one episode one girl asks the others would most want to date. Monica and Rachel say I couldn't choose, but Phoebe says Rachel.

Ross - The one that has been married ... a lot. Ross sticks out in my head either as the one who is in love with Rachel or as the one who has been divorced three times. First because she turns out to be a lesbian, second time he says the wrong name at the alter, and finally he marry's Rachel drunk in Las Vegas.

Joey - The one that mainly either wants food or sex. He is usually the one who gets the ladies but during season 7 we see a new more sensitive Joey. As when he is in Love with Rachel he is too scared to tell her cos he thinks she will turn him down. This is a new joey cos usually he is confident that women will want him.

Chandler - The comical one. Chandler is known for his jokes. He can be serious and is hurt easily but i think occasionally he covers up his pain with laughter. He usually has a lot of problems with women and we are very happy to see him getting married to Monica.

I won't go into as much detail about Sex and the City mainly because I don't know as much. I only really started watching the program last year. This wasn't because I didn't want to watch it but because I just wasn't old enough. But I really really do enjoy the show now and this Christmas I got the book "Sex and the city - kiss and tell." It is a really good book and gives you a good insight into the characters and the people working on the show.

All the women fit well together and all have one thing in common -- they love New york city. Carrie is the main character of the show but I think all the women are as important as the other because I think all women have something in common with each character.

I have practically seen all the shows but i still haven't seen a few of them. I think my dad has seen every single one. My favorite part of all the show are carrie's lines that she writes in her newspaper article. My favorite question is the one from the episode in season 4 The Real Me. "No matter how hard we look do we ever see ourselves clearly?" You can really see why her column is so popular.

And my question. Why is being a women sometimes the best thing to be in world yet sometimes the worst? Why couldn't God of made it a bit easier on us?

That doesn't leave me (John) much room to talk about Seinfeld, but what can anyone say about the show that wasn't about anything. Just that I probably agree with the claim that it's the best comedy series of all time. People will be watching re-runs for as long as there's anything like a TV to watch them on. And like classic jazz records the show will find a new audience with each generation.

After so many shows that tried to teach us something about life, a show full of doomed love affairs, terrible jobs, embarrassing families, lying, cheating and cowardice stood out like an oasis in a desert. But I think the show's long life was down to the endless variety of the perfectly crafted incidental characters.

So agree with us ... or there's no soup for you!
