Once upon a time, two men called Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin moved into a barn and started making animated television for children. Over the next 20 years they produced shows that captivated a generation of British children - including me.
Last year the Dragons' Friendly Society published the complete Noggin the Nog series on video. I watched them and was overwhelmed by the memories it brought back. After more than 30 years I knew all the characters, what was going to happen next, what the narrator (Oliver Postgate) would say next ... fantastic.
Toy Story and Monsters Inc might have the technology, but Smallfilms have the magic.
