I first read The Lord of the rings when I was 11 and couldn't put it down. I have re-read it several times since, really enjoyed the films and I'm looking forward to the last one.
I got into Harry Potter, Phillip Pulman and Brian Jacques on recent holidays having finished off all the books I'd packed and started reading the children's books. Good adventure yarns and strong female characters - which makes a change.
And now I've even started reading James' Discworld books.
